Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-05-19.
BraceFinder is a static product-recommendation site. We collect as little information as we can while still being able to keep the site working and improving it over time. This policy explains what we do and don't collect.
What we do NOT do
- We do not require accounts, logins, or registration of any kind.
- We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment info, or health information from visitors.
- We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any cross-site tracking.
- We do not sell, rent, or share visitor information.
What we DO collect
Vercel Web Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views, see which body-part pages are most useful, and measure overall traffic. Vercel Analytics is privacy-friendly by design:
- No cookies.
- No cross-site tracking — visitors are not followed across the web.
- No personal data — IP addresses are hashed and discarded.
- Fully GDPR-compliant out of the box.
- Data is aggregated — we see "200 page views on the Knee page this week," not "this specific visitor looked at these specific pages."
Hosting logs
Our hosting provider (Vercel) maintains standard web server access logs as part of normal site operation. These logs may include IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. They are used for security and performance monitoring only.
"Report a problem" button
Every product card has a button labeled "Report a problem with one of these links." When you tap it:
- The product name and the page name are sent to the site owner's Google Apps Script web app.
- A timestamp is added so we know when the report was made.
- No personal information about you is sent. No name, no email, no IP address, no device identifier.
The button is purely a "this listing might be broken" signal. After you tap, the button changes to "Thanks, we'll look into it" — that confirmation is just visual; you don't need to do anything else.
Outbound links
When you click a product link, you leave BraceFinder and enter the retailer's site. From that point forward, the retailer's privacy policy applies — not ours. Amazon's privacy notice is here.
Cookies
BraceFinder itself does not set any cookies. Vercel may set a session cookie for security purposes. When you click through to Amazon, Amazon will set their own cookies on their domain — that is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.
Children
BraceFinder is intended for adults purchasing medical or recovery products. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13, but as noted above, we do not collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will change the "Effective date" at the top. Material changes will be flagged clearly. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance.
