About BraceFinder
BraceFinder is a curated directory of orthotic braces, splints, and recovery products organized by body part. Each product card includes a use case, sizing guide, fitting tips, and the most common mistakes to avoid.
Who curates the picks
Product picks are made by a working Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist (CPO) with years of clinical experience fitting braces on real patients. We're not a manufacturer, not a hospital, and not tied to any single brand. The goal is to help patients self-purchase the right device when their care team has told them to "buy it online."
How products are selected
- Clinical experience first. Products real patients use successfully, that hold up over time, and that we'd hand to a patient in our own clinic.
- Established clinical brands. Breg, BraceAbility, Aircast, DonJoy, DJO, medi, Ossur, Allard, 3pp, GivMohr, and others.
- Budget alternatives where they exist. Many cards include a more affordable second option for patients without insurance coverage.
- Available on Amazon. So patients can buy with one tap and get fast delivery. A few products are linked elsewhere when no Amazon version exists.
What BraceFinder is NOT
- Not medical advice. Always consult your physician, surgeon, or therapist about your specific condition. The information here is general guidance, not a diagnosis or prescription.
- Not a vendor. We don't sell anything directly. Links go to Amazon and a few other retailers where you can purchase from.
- Not endorsed by any employer or hospital. This is an independent resource, built outside of any institutional ties.
Reporting problems
Every product card has a "Report a problem with one of these links" button at the bottom. If a link breaks, a product gets delisted, or you find something that's just plain wrong — please use it. Notifications come straight to us and the site is updated regularly.
